A GLANCE
Janiece Meek, originally from Independence, Missouri, moved to Atlanta,
Georgia in 1979, and on to Asheville, North Carolina in 2001 with
her husband, Terry. She earned her BA in Art at Agnes Scott College,
a liberal arts women's college in Decatur, Georgia, which she credits
with encouraging her development and reliance upon her unique blend
of critical and creative thinking. Her post-graduate studies in
Interior Design with Rhodec International, a London-based university,
have further deepened the basis for her design point of view.
“More and more, my aesthetics are influenced by design concepts
such as biomimicry and biophilia. Incorporating, but going beyond
the use of natural materials, I think these disciplines offer great
insight for the creation of pleasurable, restorative interiors,
while reminding us of nature’s matchless wonders.”
